Struct PresentationMode

sealed struct PresentationMode
Specifies various modes of presentation engine and how it updates the current image on the screen, affecting the perceived smoothness and latency of rendering. Please see [IContextConfig] and [ContextConfigAttributes].

Fields

Constants

SYSTEM_DEFAULT

PresentationMode = {"SYSTEM_DEFAULT"}
No user preferred presentation mode, let the system choose the optimal one based on use case.

IMMEDIATE

PresentationMode = {"IMMEDIATE"}
In this mode, images submitted by application are transferred to the screen right away, which can result in tearing but might have the lowest latency. It’s useful for applications where input latency is a critical factor.

FIFO

PresentationMode = {"FIFO"}
First-In, First-Out mode is similar to traditional V-Sync, where the display refreshes at a fixed rate, and the swap-chain queues images to match this rate. If the application’s render rate is higher than the display’s refresh rate, the application might have to wait. This mode guarantees no tearing.
