Interface IVideoEncoderFeaturesCapabilities

interface IVideoEncoderFeaturesCapabilities
Extends com.amazon.apmf.IStandard Interface to get capabilities about the features supported by the video encoder.

Methods

isDynamicFrameRateSupported()

bool isDynamicFrameRateSupported()
Checks whether codec support Dynamic Frame Rate changes. Dynamic framerate means, on the fly changing the framerate in range of min/max supported by codec

Returns

bool true if Dynamic Frame Rate supported.

isDynamicKeyFrameIntervalSupported()

bool isDynamicKeyFrameIntervalSupported()
Checks whether codec support Dynamic key frame interval. Dynamic key frame interval means, on the fly changing the key frame intervals, a key frame (I frame) is a frame encoded in its entirety. Other frames (P and B) are “predicted”, ie, they contain only the changes from frame to frame. Hence I frames are typically very larger than P and B frames, so the fewer you have, the more compression you can get. But very long GOPs make the video harder to seek because the decoder has to locate the I frame before the requested seek position and decompress all the frames from that I frame to the requested frame before it can resume with playback.

Returns

bool true if Dynamic Key Frame Interval supported.

isDynamicIDRFrameIntervalSupported()

bool isDynamicIDRFrameIntervalSupported()
Checks whether codec support Dynamic sync frame interval. Dynamic IDR frame interval means, on the fly changing the IDR frame intervals, an IDR frame is a special type of I-frame. An IDR frame specifies that no frame after the IDR frame can reference any frame before it. This makes seeking file easier and more responsive in the player.

Returns

bool true if Dynamic IDR Frame Interval supported or false otherwise.
